About Sprint unlocks (post-merger)

Sprint completed its merger with T-Mobile in 2020 and the Sprint network has since been fully integrated into T-Mobile's. Sprint-branded devices are now serviced under T-Mobile's unlock framework, though Sprint-locked devices retain their original Sprint lock code structure and historically had different eligibility windows than T-Mobile postpaid devices.

Eligibility (typical)

Per the published policy, Sprint-locked devices are generally eligible to unlock once the account is in good standing, the device is paid off (no remaining Sprint Flex / installment balance), the device has been active on the network for the minimum policy window, and the device has not been reported lost or stolen. Domestic SIM unlock and international unlock are handled the same way through the manufacturer channel.
