Three is the UK's fourth-largest mobile network, owned by CK Hutchison Holdings (currently merging with Vodafone UK). For the small subset of Three-locked devices, the unlock is provided free of charge through Three's request route, typically requiring the device to be paid in full and the account to be in good standing.

The unlock is whitelisted at the factory level and is permanent: it persists through factory resets, OS updates, and SIM swaps, and the device will accept any compatible SIM worldwide.
