About Claro network unlocks
Claro is the consumer mobile brand of América Móvil, the largest mobile-network operator in Latin America. Claro operates in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and several other markets. Each national Claro subsidiary publishes its own unlock policy under local consumer-protection law.
Regional eligibility frameworks
Most Latin American jurisdictions have consumer-protection rules that require a carrier to provide an unlock once contract or finance terms have been met. In some markets (notably Brazil under Anatel rules), carriers must provide unlocks on request after a defined active-service period at no charge. In others, unlocks have historically required additional account verification or fees through the carrier's own channel.
What DeviceDecoded does
We process the unlock through the manufacturer's official IMEI channel — Apple, Samsung, Motorola — which works regardless of which Claro subsidiary originally locked the device. The unlock is permanent at the factory level: it survives factory resets, OS updates, and SIM swaps, and the device will accept any GSM-compatible carrier worldwide.
