About Three (3) network unlocks
Three is the UK's fourth-largest mobile network, owned by CK Hutchison Holdings (currently merging with Vodafone UK). Three has historically taken a more liberal approach to unlocking than the other UK MNOs: most Three devices have shipped network-unlocked from the factory for many years, and after the Ofcom 1 December 2021 ruling all UK-sold devices must be unlocked or unlockable free on request.
Eligibility
The majority of Three UK devices — particularly recent ones — are already factory-unlocked. Three's customer-service flow can confirm by device serial. For the small subset of Three-locked devices, the unlock is provided free of charge through Three's request route, typically requiring the device to be paid in full and the account to be in good standing.
What DeviceDecoded does
