What is a network unlock?
Many phones are sold locked to the network that originally supplied them, so they only accept SIMs from that carrier. A network (carrier) unlock removes that restriction at the database level by whitelisting your IMEI.
Unlike software hacks, an official unlock is permanent — it survives factory resets and software updates, and never affects your warranty.
