Overview
Samsung's Galaxy S8 launched in 2017 as the device that established the Infinity Display design language now used across every modern Galaxy. Sold in massive volume globally, it is still one of the most actively traded Android phones on the second-hand market. An IMEI check returns the exact variant (SM-G950F international, SM-G950U US carrier, SM-G950N Korean, etc.), the carrier the device was originally locked to, current Samsung warranty status, the Samsung Knox warranty bit (critical for any used Galaxy purchase — a tripped Knox bit voids warranty and indicates the device was rooted or had custom firmware), and the GSMA blacklist record. Knox status is the Samsung-specific check that you cannot get any other way; always run it before buying a used S8.
