How is the device name detected?
Your browser, operating system, screen and hardware are read directly from your browser and never leave your device. Everything in the “Seen by our server” block comes from the request your browser already sent us — we don't store it.
The device model is the hard part. Android & Chromium browsers report it outright (via the user agent or Client Hints). Apple deliberately hides it — every iPhone reports only as iPhone. So for Apple devices we infer the model from its screen fingerprint (logical resolution × pixel ratio) matched against a table of every iPhone and iPad's screen geometry, and we measure the refresh rate to tell 120Hz ProMotion (Pro) models from 60Hz ones.
Because some models share an identical screen, we show our best guess marked with an * and list the other possibilities. Display Zoom or larger-text settings can also shift the reading. So treat a starred model as a strong guess, not a guarantee.
