Knox Guard is a remote lock feature used by carriers and retailers for financed devices — it can lock the phone screen remotely. Knox MDM (Mobile Device Management) is used by employers to manage corporate devices with app restrictions, Wi-Fi policies, and security settings. Both can restrict device use.

Can Knox be removed from a Samsung phone?

Knox Guard must be removed by the carrier or retailer who applied it. MDM enrolment must be unenrolled by the company IT admin. Neither can be bypassed by a factory reset. Always check Knox status before buying used Samsung devices.

Does Knox tripping void my warranty?
