About this Alcatel × Somtel unlock
Somtel locks devices to its network when sold on contract or financed. Unlocking your Alcatel is straightforward once your account meets Somtel's eligibility criteria — typically the device must be paid off and not reported lost or stolen.
DeviceDecoded uses the manufacturer's official unlock channel. We submit your Alcatel's IMEI directly, and once approved, the device is permanently whitelisted. The unlock survives factory resets, OS updates, and SIM swaps.
Somtel country coverage
Somtel operates in 1 country. Your Alcatel unlock works regardless of which country it was originally sold in.

FAQ — Alcatel on Somtel
- Can Somtel block this unlock?
- No. Once your Alcatel's IMEI is whitelisted on the manufacturer's database, Somtel cannot reverse it.
- Will my Alcatel stay unlocked after a factory reset?
- Yes. The unlock is permanent at the factory level — it persists through factory resets, OS updates, and SIM changes.
- Do I need my Somtel account credentials?
- No. We unlock by IMEI alone. You don't need to provide your Somtel username, PIN, or account number.
- What if my Alcatel is still on a Somtel payment plan?
- It depends on the device's status. Start with the eligibility check at our unlock checkout — that page explains how the two-stage payment works before you commit.
