About this Amazon × Cloud9 unlock
Cloud9 locks devices to its network when sold on contract or financed. Unlocking your Amazon is straightforward once your account meets Cloud9's eligibility criteria — typically the device must be paid off and not reported lost or stolen.
DeviceDecoded uses the manufacturer's official unlock channel. We submit your Amazon's IMEI directly, and once approved, the device is permanently whitelisted. The unlock survives factory resets, OS updates, and SIM swaps.
Cloud9 country coverage
Cloud9 operates in 1 country. Your Amazon unlock works regardless of which country it was originally sold in.

FAQ — Amazon on Cloud9
- Can Cloud9 block this unlock?
- No. Once your Amazon's IMEI is whitelisted on the manufacturer's database, Cloud9 cannot reverse it.
- Will my Amazon stay unlocked after a factory reset?
- Yes. The unlock is permanent at the factory level — it persists through factory resets, OS updates, and SIM changes.
- Do I need my Cloud9 account credentials?
- No. We unlock by IMEI alone. You don't need to provide your Cloud9 username, PIN, or account number.
- What if my Amazon is still on a Cloud9 payment plan?
- It depends on the device's status. Start with the eligibility check at our unlock checkout — that page explains how the two-stage payment works before you commit.
