About this Blackberry × Zamtel unlock
Zamtel locks devices to its network when sold on contract or financed. Unlocking your Blackberry is straightforward once your account meets Zamtel's eligibility criteria — typically the device must be paid off and not reported lost or stolen.
DeviceDecoded uses the manufacturer's official unlock channel. We submit your Blackberry's IMEI directly, and once approved, the device is permanently whitelisted. The unlock survives factory resets, OS updates, and SIM swaps.
Zamtel country coverage
Zamtel operates in 1 country. Your Blackberry unlock works regardless of which country it was originally sold in.

FAQ — Blackberry on Zamtel
- Can Zamtel block this unlock?
- No. Once your Blackberry's IMEI is whitelisted on the manufacturer's database, Zamtel cannot reverse it.
- Will my Blackberry stay unlocked after a factory reset?
- Yes. The unlock is permanent at the factory level — it persists through factory resets, OS updates, and SIM changes.
- Do I need my Zamtel account credentials?
- No. We unlock by IMEI alone. You don't need to provide your Zamtel username, PIN, or account number.
- What if my Blackberry is still on a Zamtel payment plan?
- It depends on the device's status. Start with the eligibility check at our unlock checkout — that page explains how the two-stage payment works before you commit.
