About this GFAN × MTS unlock
MTS locks devices to its network when sold on contract or financed. Unlocking your GFAN is straightforward once your account meets MTS's eligibility criteria — typically the device must be paid off and not reported lost or stolen.
DeviceDecoded uses the manufacturer's official unlock channel. We submit your GFAN's IMEI directly, and once approved, the device is permanently whitelisted. The unlock survives factory resets, OS updates, and SIM swaps.
MTS country coverage
MTS operates in 5 countries. Your GFAN unlock works regardless of which country it was originally sold in.

FAQ — GFAN on MTS
- Can MTS block this unlock?
- No. Once your GFAN's IMEI is whitelisted on the manufacturer's database, MTS cannot reverse it.
- Will my GFAN stay unlocked after a factory reset?
- Yes. The unlock is permanent at the factory level — it persists through factory resets, OS updates, and SIM changes.
- Do I need my MTS account credentials?
- No. We unlock by IMEI alone. You don't need to provide your MTS username, PIN, or account number.
- What if my GFAN is still on a MTS payment plan?
- It depends on the device's status. Start with the eligibility check at our unlock checkout — that page explains how the two-stage payment works before you commit.
