About this KOOLMAAX × Tigo unlock
Tigo locks devices to its network when sold on contract or financed. Unlocking your KOOLMAAX is straightforward once your account meets Tigo's eligibility criteria — typically the device must be paid off and not reported lost or stolen.
DeviceDecoded uses the manufacturer's official unlock channel. We submit your KOOLMAAX's IMEI directly, and once approved, the device is permanently whitelisted. The unlock survives factory resets, OS updates, and SIM swaps.
Tigo country coverage
Tigo operates in 12 countries. Your KOOLMAAX unlock works regardless of which country it was originally sold in.

FAQ — KOOLMAAX on Tigo
- Can Tigo block this unlock?
- No. Once your KOOLMAAX's IMEI is whitelisted on the manufacturer's database, Tigo cannot reverse it.
- Will my KOOLMAAX stay unlocked after a factory reset?
- Yes. The unlock is permanent at the factory level — it persists through factory resets, OS updates, and SIM changes.
- Do I need my Tigo account credentials?
- No. We unlock by IMEI alone. You don't need to provide your Tigo username, PIN, or account number.
- What if my KOOLMAAX is still on a Tigo payment plan?
- It depends on the device's status. Start with the eligibility check at our unlock checkout — that page explains how the two-stage payment works before you commit.
