About this KOTEL × Alltel unlock
Alltel locks devices to its network when sold on contract or financed. Unlocking your KOTEL is straightforward once your account meets Alltel's eligibility criteria — typically the device must be paid off and not reported lost or stolen.
DeviceDecoded uses the manufacturer's official unlock channel. We submit your KOTEL's IMEI directly, and once approved, the device is permanently whitelisted. The unlock survives factory resets, OS updates, and SIM swaps.
Alltel country coverage
Alltel operates in 1 country. Your KOTEL unlock works regardless of which country it was originally sold in.

FAQ — KOTEL on Alltel
- Can Alltel block this unlock?
- No. Once your KOTEL's IMEI is whitelisted on the manufacturer's database, Alltel cannot reverse it.
- Will my KOTEL stay unlocked after a factory reset?
- Yes. The unlock is permanent at the factory level — it persists through factory resets, OS updates, and SIM changes.
- Do I need my Alltel account credentials?
- No. We unlock by IMEI alone. You don't need to provide your Alltel username, PIN, or account number.
- What if my KOTEL is still on a Alltel payment plan?
- It depends on the device's status. Start with the eligibility check at our unlock checkout — that page explains how the two-stage payment works before you commit.
