O2 is one of the UK's four major mobile networks, owned by Virgin Media O2. Since the Ofcom unlocking ruling that took effect on 1 December 2021, O2 — along with all UK carriers — is required to either sell phones unlocked from purchase or unlock them free of charge on request.
