About Vivo IMEI checks

Vivo is one of the world's top five smartphone manufacturers, with strong presence across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin America. The Vivo lineup spans the flagship X series, premium V series, mid-range Y series, and the iQOO performance sub-brand. Every Vivo phone — including those running Funtouch OS in international markets and OriginOS in mainland China — has a unique 15-digit IMEI you can use to identify the exact model, region of sale, and warranty status.

To find the IMEI on a Vivo phone, dial *#06# on the keypad — the IMEI displays instantly. You can also find it in Settings → System → About phone → Status, on the original retail box, or under the SIM tray. Dual-SIM Vivo models have two IMEIs; either can be used for lookup.

Vivo serial numbers are different from IMEIs. The serial is an alphanumeric code (typically 10–13 characters) used by Vivo for warranty tracking and quality control, while the IMEI is the global GSMA-issued identifier used by carriers and authorities. Our free IMEI checker identifies any Vivo device using just the IMEI, and our serial check tool validates Vivo serial numbers.

When buying a second-hand Vivo phone, run the IMEI through our lost & stolen database first — Vivo devices are heavily targeted in some markets and a blacklisted Vivo phone is unusable on cellular networks. For Indian-market Vivo phones, also check carrier lock status with our carrier lookup tool.

Vivo IMEI & warranty FAQ

How do I check a Vivo phone IMEI?
Dial *#06# on your Vivo phone — the IMEI displays instantly without making a call. Alternatively go to Settings > System > About phone > Status, or check the original retail box. Enter that 15-digit IMEI into our free IMEI checker to identify the exact Vivo model, region of sale, and current network status.
What is the difference between IMEI and serial number on Vivo?
The IMEI is a globally standardised 15-digit number issued by the GSMA — used by carriers and authorities to identify mobile devices. The Vivo serial number is an internal alphanumeric code used by Vivo itself for warranty registration and manufacturing tracking. Both can identify a specific device, but only the IMEI is recognised internationally for blacklisting, carrier lookup, and warranty checks across regions.
Can I check Vivo warranty by IMEI?
Yes. Vivo warranty status can be verified using the IMEI on Vivo's regional service portals. Vivo offers a one-year manufacturer warranty in most markets, two years in the EU. Battery and charger accessories typically have a six-month warranty. Use our IMEI checker to identify the exact model, then visit Vivo's authorised service centre in your region.
Is iQOO the same as Vivo?
iQOO is a sub-brand of Vivo focused on performance and gaming. iQOO phones share Vivo's manufacturing, warranty, and IMEI registration systems, so any iQOO IMEI returns Vivo as the manufacturer. Funtouch OS (Vivo) and OriginOS / Monster UI (iQOO) are both built on the same core. Our IMEI checker identifies iQOO models alongside the parent Vivo lineup.
How do I know if a used Vivo phone is stolen?
Run the IMEI through our free lost & stolen database check before paying. Vivo phones reported lost or stolen are added to the GSMA global blacklist by the original carrier. A blacklisted IMEI cannot connect to most cellular networks worldwide, even after a SIM change.
Why does my Vivo phone show two IMEIs?
Most Vivo phones are dual-SIM, which means they have two IMEIs — one per SIM slot. Both IMEIs are valid identifiers for the same device. You can use either for warranty lookup, blacklist check, or carrier identification. They share the same TAC code (first 8 digits) because both belong to the same hardware model.
Can I unlock a carrier-locked Vivo phone?
Vivo phones sold via certain Indian and Latin American carriers can be carrier-locked for the first 6–12 months. After the contract period, the carrier is required to unlock the phone for free on request. Use our carrier lookup to identify the original network, then contact that carrier's customer service for an unlock code or remote unlock.
How accurate is the Vivo IMEI check?
Our IMEI lookup matches the first 8 digits (the Type Allocation Code) against the GSMA TAC database, which has every legitimate Vivo and iQOO model registered. The match returns the exact model name, year of release, hardware specifications, and region. Accuracy is essentially 100% for any Vivo device sold through official channels.
