Before you install

Yes. Installing it, connecting your phone, running a scan and seeing what it found costs nothing and needs no account or card. A licence is what lets you complete the job — export the files, finish the unlock, run the transfer.

Each build publishes its SHA-256 on its own download page. Check the file against it before you run it; if the two do not match, the file did not reach you intact and should go in the bin.

Both, and each build has its own page with its requirements. A few tools are Windows-only where the underlying support does not exist on macOS, and the tool pages say so rather than leaving you to find out afterwards.

Because you should not be paying before the software has looked at your phone. The purchase happens inside the application, after the scan, when you can see what it will actually do for your device.
